I ran into John Kadlecik Friday night at the 9:30 club in DC and even he doesn't know exactly what future plans they've got.

By the way, and no offense to JK, but the current DSO Jerry (Jeff Mattson) is the real (fake) deal.

DSO bass player Kevin Rosen had an interesting shirt last night. It had the dancing bears raising up a long stem rose in a parody of the Iwo Jima memorial.

Pure speculation on my part but I think the baseline for the rumors they were done was the fact Phil has been very adamant about maintaining flexibility to perform with others and not get stuck in any one groove for too long. Now that Terrapin Crossroads is going full swing with lots of varied guests and he maintains homes on both sides of the Dead Set bridges (ie SF and NY) maybe Phil is finding his Jones fed and we can all have "best of both worlds."
